That’s why you’ll often see the best Vitamin E oil marketed as an anti-aging supplement. However, if you like working out, you’d be glad to know that the very same mechanism that prevents skin aging also works to promote muscle building.

Vitamin E’s antioxidant properties help build muscle by mitigating the effects of free radicals and preventing cytokines from inhibiting muscle growth. That’s why it’s a good idea to take antioxidants like Vitamin E supplements before or soon after training.

There’s also one incredible benefit that is not talked about as often as it should – it helps boost testosterone (more on this later).

However, there are far too many choices on the market. That’s why we have created this list of the best Vitamin E oil products.

Benefits of Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin which has powerful antioxidant properties. It comes in eight forms, namely: alpha-, beta-, delta- and gamma-tocotrienol and alpha-, beta-, delta- and gamma-tocopherol.

The benefit of vitamin E intake has been established decades ago. But how exactly does Vitamin E benefit you?

Fights Free Radicals

Free radicals can damage your body’s healthy cells which can cause skin damage and premature skin aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and heart diseases. Free radicals cause cholesterol oxidation, which can be harmful for the body.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant so it fights off free radicals, corrects skin pigmentation, and enhances immunity. If you’re taking it to boost your immune system, you might also want to take vitamin C such as ascorbic acid.

heart

Reduces Cardiovascular Risks

According to a study, it was found that increased intake of antioxidants, primarily Vitamin E, is associated with a lesser risk of coronary disease.

Vitamin E not only promotes health on a cellular level; it also keeps cholesterol levels in check. This means that it can lessen your risk of developing heart diseases.

If you want to take Vitamin E to improve cardiovascular health, try supplementing with natural vasodilators. They can also help boost your workout performance. COQ10 supplements are particularly great for heart health and would complement your vitamin E perfectly.

Promotes Hair Growth

As we age, our hair becomes more prone to breakage and fallouts. Our scalp also loses its moisture and gets flaky.

Vitamin E repairs damaged hair follicles and tissues. It prevents hair from getting thinner and falling out, if the cause is nutritional deficiency. Aside from that, it retains your scalp’s natural moisture and stimulates blood circulation.

workout

Muscle Building

Free radicals, the substances that antioxidants fight, occur after exercise. Free radicals wreak havoc on muscle cells, resulting in break-down. They can even stimulate the production of cytokines, substances that trigger inflammation and inhibit the action of growth hormones which are responsible for muscle development.

Boosts Testosterone

In the 30’s vitamin E was identified as antiestrogenic compound and generally used for treating blood clots, infertility, diabetes, and connective tissue abnormalities.

A study had suggested that Vitamin E deficiency can reduce the levels of testosterone.

When lipid peroxidation happens, it activates the stress hormone “cortisol” which will cause testosterone levels to drop. Vitamin E protects the body from lipid peroxidation, hence, increases testosterone levels.

It is also known that when vitamin E is taken in conjunction with selenium, it helps improve your sperm activity. Aside from that, it also increases sperm count since it combats free radicals that can affect your sperm.

If you’re taking vitamin E to boost testosterone, try natural testosterone boosting food as well.

Vitamin E Deficiency

Although vitamin e deficiency is rare, it’s still best for you to know what the signs are, which are the following:

  • Difficulty in Speaking
  • Muscular Weakness
  • Poor Nerve Impulses
  • Changes in Eyesight
  • Dry Skin
  • Reproductive Issues and May Possibly Cause Sterility
  • Hemolytic Anemia – Red Blood Cells Breaking Down Abnormally.
  • Retinopathy – Retina Damage

According to the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) by the Food and Nutrition Board (FNB), vitamin E intake for adults must be 30 IU, approximately 15-20 mg of alpha-tocopherols.

By using pregnenolone cream or pregnenolone supplements, the levels of the compound in the body increases, and this brings about various benefits such as fatigue relief, and delay of the aging process.

Recommended Vitamin E Intake

According to the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) by the Food and Nutrition Board (FNB), vitamin E intake for adults must be 30 IU, approximately 15-20 mg of alpha-tocopherols.

You can always try to meet your vitamin E requirements through food sources. Almonds and spinach have high Vitamin E content. You can also get it from olive oil and fish oil.

But if you are considering taking dietary supplements, keep this in mind:

  • Multivitamin supplements only provide about 30 IU of vitamin E. Milligrams(mg) is the new unit for the RDI of vitamin E specified by the FDA.
  • Most vitamin capsules sold in the market contains 100-1000 IU per pill.
  • Some supplements contain different compounds of Vitamin E aside from the most common d-alpha-tocopherol.

I want to ask you something. Someone told me that vitamin E increases estrogen level and it’s not good for males. Is it true?

  2. What if I take a 1000 milligram capsule of vitamin E more that the recommended intake would that cause any side effects? From a vitamin E supplement that’s got 1000 iu of d alpha tropicals the brand spring valley

    • It would be OK but more is not necessarily better and excessive Vitamin E can thin the blood, so make sure you take Vitamin K with it also. I would only recommend above recommended amounts for short periods to treat conditions such as gynecomastia, excess prolactin or estrogen dominance.
