Summary
Blood tests for checking your hormone health can be expensive and tedious. Analyzing the results would guarantee confusion, and a massive amount of time is needed to learn about almost every aspect of your body.
WellnessFX aims to solve these problems through direct-to-consumer blood laboratory testing and analysis. All you have to do is go to the nearest laboratory, undergo testing, and WellnessFX reviews your results.
About the Brand
WellnessFX is a web-based service that provides direct-to-consumer blood test and phone consultation. They have a team of medical advisors to make sure that the information provided is correct and up-to-date.

What You Get
The product is available in four main packages: e-Checkup, Baseline, Performance, and Premium. Except the e-Checkup, all packages include the assessments featured in the Baseline package—advanced cholesterol, basic inflammation, thyroid-stimulating hormone, blood glucose and average blood sugar, liver and kidney health, and electrolytes and basic nutrients.
For the purpose of this review, we will be taking a look at the Performance package as it offers testing for basic hormone health biomarkers.

These include:
Testosterone
The classic symptoms of low total testosterone are erectile dysfunction, low libido, low sperm count, hot flashes, and loss of body hair. However, low T levels can be difficult to identify as symptoms can occur one at a time and would only increase as the deficiency worsens.
By testing it, you can immediately identify if there’s a problem with your total testosterone. You can then take corrective measures and help your body restore the balance.
However, even if you have enough total testosterone but lack free testosterone, you will still experience symptoms of low T and could feel the effects of it in the long term.
By testing for free testosterone, you know how much of the male sex hormone you can freely use. However, testing this still has its limitations and this is why you must also test your SHBG levels.
SHBG
If you’re going to have your blood drawn specifically to determine how much testosterone you have, you won’t be getting the full picture. Bioavailability, that is the important thing.
Sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) is a protein that binds androgens (including testosterone) and makes them unavailable for the body to us. By testing for SHBG, you’d know how much bioavailable testosterone you have.
Cortisol
Cortisol aids in metabolism when your body needs a rapid boost in energy. But, when chronically elevated, it can mess up the balance of your hormones, energy levels, weight, appetite, and even your psychological well-being.
DHEA-S
Also known as dehydroepiandrosterone, DHEA-S is a precursor to your testosterone hormones. But, like other hormones, too much of it can be harmful.
What makes it even more harmful is that elevated DHEA doesn't lead to any symptoms in men. In the long-term, it can increase risks for mental and behavioral disorders as well as worsen the effects of stress on the brain.

Estradiol
This is a form of estrogen utilized by various parts of the male body, such as the cardiovascular system and the prostate. It’s produced from testosterone through the action of the aromatase enzyme.
Although usually mentioned in relation to women's health, balanced levels of estradiol play an important part in men’s health as well. Too much of it increases the chances of heart failure by 300% within three years, and too little increases the same by 100% in the same span of time.
Liver Health
The liver breaks down excess cortisol, testosterone, and aldosterone. If the liver is inefficient due to a disorder or disease, these cannot be broken down, resulting in hormonal imbalances.
WellnessFX’s Baseline, Performance, and Premium packages analyze biomarkers indicative of your liver’s health and working efficiency. Some of these biomarkers are Albumin, A/G ratio, Alkaline Phosphatase, AST/SGOT, ALT/SGPT, and bilirubin.
Pituitary Gland Health
The pituitary gland releases hormones that directly or indirectly influence the secretion of testosterone and cortisol. Examples of such are the following: luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, and thyroid stimulating hormone.
If it abnormally produced too much or too little of said hormones, the body’s release of other hormones will also be affected.

Thyroid Health
When the thyroid under-produces the T3 hormone, it can lead to free testosterone deficiency. On the other hand, if there’s too much T3, the body could have an abundance of free testosterone, which also leads to serious health consequences.
Kidney Health
Cortisol is produced by the adrenal glands, which are situated just above the kidneys. If you have chronic kidney disease (or your kidneys are unhealthy in any way), cortisol excretion could become abnormally high and can lead to prolonged elevation of blood sugar, eventual weight gain, and loss of muscle mass.
Aside from the mentioned biomarkers above, there are others that go beyond your hormone health. These include biomarkers for cardiovascular health, metabolic health, electrolytes, blood health, vitamins and minerals, and fatty acids.

Comprehensive Results
Through your online profile, WellnessFX would present your results in a manner that can be easily understood. They provide in-depth information for every test done so you can understand what the results mean.
Moreover, the system even gives you information on how the results can affect you based on your age, gender, and physical condition. With that, you’ll have an idea on what should be done—such as following low-calorie diets (including the Cambridge diet) or taking nutritional supplements (both vitamin and mineral).
Last but not least, all of the information is stored in your profile. So, when you take lab tests in the future, you can easily compare and track your progress.
Optional Consultation
WellnessFX provides their clients the option to get a consultation from a qualified medical practitioner. Depending on your location, you can choose a specialist, schedule a time, and call a secured line for your consultation.
Furthermore, the practitioner would provide personalized recommendations that you can easily access in your online profile. Depending on your results, you may even get insights on how to overcome iron-deficiency anemia as well as prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

How to Use
Upon payment, simply print the lab order appropriate for the package you chose. Then, you can find a convenient location for your blood work. After three to ten days, your results will be uploaded to your online profile.
Furthermore, WellnessFX provide you with the information needed to understand your results, eliminating the need to read peer-reviewed publications. You even have the option to get recommendations from a qualified medical practitioner.
The Verdict
The variety of packages provided by WellnessFX gives you the option to pick the right one for your needs and budget. We would recommend the Performance package as it tests everything you would need for assessing your hormonal health.
At first glance, it may seem more expensive than testing these biomarkers through individual testing kits. But, even if you purchase laboratory test kits, WellnessFX provides convenience as you’re getting everything with a single purchase and blood draw.

We just wish that they would offer a special package for regular blood testing. They should provide a more practical option for those using consumer-driven health care or are serious about following the recommended period for repeat lab testing (usually quarterly).
Overall, we agree with most other WellnessFX reviews—we recommend it for getting an overall assessment of your health and wellness. It’s ideal before you get started with optimizing your hormonal balance and then repeated after a certain period to check your progress.
If you are seeking to do single tests rather than a package, we recommend MyLabFax instead of WellnessFX, see more below.
