Male Enhancement: All the Truth about Penis Enlargement

Male enhancement for penis products are all over the internet nowadays, popping up as advertisements in practically all the websites. Is it worth it though? Personal reviews say they are, but scientific evidence supporting this isn't very forthcoming.

Today, there are several types of penis enlargement methods from the type you attach to the male member or those that you apply in the form of a gel. Here’s what you need to know about each one.

Penis Enlargement – What’s the Normal Size?

A recent survey shows that around 45 percent of men are not happy with their penis size – but what exactly is the average size? It depends on the country of course, but the accepted average is at 5 inches when fully erect.

However, that doesn’t mean that everything below that is too small. By medical standards, a penis is only abnormally small if it less than 3 inches when fully erect.

It’s not about falling within average or not however as many men still want to increase their length and girth even if they fall within the normal size. This is evidenced by the success of various penis enlargement products out in the market today.

In fact, there’s a psychiatric diagnosis for the condition – penile dysmorphic disorder. This is the situation where average-sized males look at themselves and think that they’re small regardless of their actual size.

If you ask the women however, around 85 percent of them report they’re satisfied with their partner’s penis size.

Penis Enlargement Products Today

So exactly what products or services today are marketed to help with penis enlargement? You’ll be surprised to find that there are a variety of those in the market – from things you can apply to things you can attach. Here’s how each one is supposed to work and whether they’re really effective:

Penis Enlargement Gels

There are gels and lotions available today that claim to contain exotic plants that help improve the penis length, girth, and performance. You’re supposed to apply it onto the penis on a routine basis, often using specific motions to increase the absorption of the gel through the skin.

There’s some truth to this in that the skin can actually absorb the chemicals, nutrient, and vitamins produced by the gel. Whether or not it actually has the desired effect on the penis is still up for discussion. As of this writing, there’s no scientific research backing up this claim.

Penis Enlargement Pills

This is usually made with a combination of herbs, hormones, minerals, and vitamins – all of which are supposed to work together to promote penis growth. Unfortunately, the scientific studies backing up these products are lacking with some even saying that they’re harmful.

Vacuum Pumps

Vacuum pumps are elongated cylindrical containers where you put the penis and create a vacuum seal that encourages blood throughout the veins of the penis. It works by forcing blood to all parts of the penis so that it swells into a larger size while making it extra-sensitive.

The idea is that by improving blood flow to all the tissues of the penis, the area will slowly grow into its “swelled” size, allowing you to have a bigger penis through frequent use. It is also advertised to help with erectile dysfunction and supposedly helps with premature ejaculation problems.

Does it work? There have been reviews stating that vacuum pump help with penis growth. However, these reports are unsubstantiated. Instead, experts state that frequent use of the product can actually damage the tissue of the penis, leading to erectile dysfunction.

Extenders of Traction Devices

Penile extenders are essentially braces that are attached to both ends of the penis. It grips onto the muscle and stretches it to create a bit of tautness.

Think of how dental braces work – by putting the pressure on how you want the teeth to grow. This is the same principle used here. The idea is to create micro tears onto the length of the penis that the body “heals” by generating new skin.

Do this often enough and the penis becomes elongated.

Like with dental braces however, penis extenders have to be worn for long periods of time. Guides show that it should be worn 4 to 6 hours each day for positive results to present itself.

Those changes don’t just happen in one day however – it takes literal months of wearing the traction device before you can get positive results. Since the traction device is far from discreet, you can only wear it at home and it’s usually not possible to wear underwear or shorts at the same time.

Does it work? It depends on what studies you read. Small research facilities have reported that it can work, adding 1 to 3 centimeters of length on the penis.

Larger studies however have discovered zero effect on penis length. In either studies, further look into the phenomenon is recommended. Currently, the Urology Care Foundation do not advertise the use of extenders or traction devices to improve penile length.

Further studies on the use of extenders to correct curvature is also being touched upon in medical circles today.

Jelqing Exercises

Jelqing is a workout that follows the same principle as vacuum pump. The goal is to push blood through the length of the penis using only your hands. That’s just a small part of the exercise however.

This is actually an ancient Arab technique that involves lots of manual stretching of the penis in different directions. It works through the same scientific principle as extenders – stretching the penis creates micro tears that causes the penis to become engorged during the healing stage.

Do this often enough and the micro tears would supposedly heal over, physically extending and widening the penis when fully erect. In terms of safety, jelqing is perhaps the safest penis enlargement technique out there.

However, this doesn’t mean there are zero repercussions. If you’re not careful, jelqing exercises can damage the muscle, cause scars, disfigure the length of the penis, and essentially cause pain due to the friction and irritation of the skin.

Surgery

Surgery is the last resort to improve penis length – but with unsure results. There are two ways in which this is done. First is by injecting fat cells into the penis in order to increase both length and girth. Another technique is to graft skin cells onto the area which is less invasive.

However, both are risky processes with a chance of not working at all. At worst, surgery can cause the penis to lose sensation or increase the risk of infection. In cases where it does work however, surgery manages to add around 1 to 3 centimeters to a flaccid penis.

Unfortunately, the added length is limited to the flaccid state – when fully erect, there doesn’t seem to be any changes to the overall size of the penis. In most cases, the added length and girth disappears overtime.

There’s also suspensory ligament release which is another method of surgery involving the penis. This approach however doesn’t really add to its size but simply helps with erection.

A ligament is attached to the pubic area, providing anchor to the penis so that it can better maintain an erection. The process typically changes the angle of the penis, making it appear longer.

Size versus Service – The Argument on Satisfaction

For many, the phrase “It’s not the size of your tool, it’s how you use it” holds true to this day. The fact is that all the known methods for increasing penis size have very little evidence of success.

As of this writing, there are no approved penis enlargement techniques. This is why it’s actually better to seek out other ways to enhance your performance in bed – specifically by investing in technique rather than size. Stop about improving girth for a minute and focus on being able to retain excellent stamina in the bedroom – which is a more achievable goal.

But what exactly can you do for stamina? Here are some of the best natural methods to make this possible:

Get in Shape

You don’t need to have six-pack abs in order to have better sexual performance – just do what you can to lose the excess fat, especially on the belly region. Added weight can mess with your oxygen, making it more difficult for you to sustain prolonged physical activity – such as sex.

Of course, there’s also the fact that a large belly makes the penis appear smaller by comparison. Lose the weight and you’ll instantly notice and appreciate the actual size of it.

Get Some Rest

Stress is one of the biggest mood killers for sexy time. For some people, anxiety can take over their thoughts so that there’s really no desire for sexual contact.

Ironically, not being able to perform is in itself a source of stress so try not to expect too much from yourself if you’re going through a tough time. Relax, take a deep breath, and pamper yourself first before attempting to do anything in the bedroom.

Skip the Cigarettes

Vices like cigarettes and alcohol are known for constricting the blood vessel, therefore making it harder for the blood to pass through the different parts of the body. It’s therefore not surprising for heavy smokers to experience poor circulation – especially on the penis area.

With prolonged cigarette use and alcohol consumption, erectile dysfunction and even visual shrinkage may occur. Fortunately, the effect of smoking and alcohol on the penis can be reversed if you stop immediately. Skip the habit entirely and opt for a healthier way of life.

Minimize Cycling

If you’re an avid fan of cycling, you might want to limit your rides and take on more penis-friendly activities. Cycling for long periods of time put undue pressure on the crotch area of the male, leading to erectile dysfunction.

Most people think that this is because of the tight clothes worn by cyclists – but this is not true. Tight pants won’t cause erectile dysfunction but it will lower your sperm count so if you want kids, skip the skinny jeans completely.

Masturbation for Stamina

They say practice makes perfect and when it comes to sexual satisfaction, that’s really the case. Masturbating can help you last longer in bed as you learn to stimulate yourself and exercise some control on your orgasm.

Definitely, this helps you last longer in bed so that you can give your partner your full attention. Masturbating on a routine basis can also help decrease your chances of prostate cancer, according to one study.

Can it help with sexual stamina though? Well, it usually takes longer for a man to orgasm after the first time. The theory is that if you masturbate on a regular basis, there’s no urgency when you eventually have sex – so bed activities can be slightly prolonged.

Introduce Toys

It’s also a good idea to add some spice into the sex by bringing in different toys for stimulation. This helps with foreplay and extends the excitement for the woman so that you can deliver on satisfaction every time.

Remember that this is something you and your partner have to talk about beforehand however.

Using Natural Supplements Like Black Ginger

Another good alternative would be the use of supplements that have been proven to help with erectile dysfunction. For example, the methoxyflavones found in the Black Ginger the supplement can help with sexual activity and vascular relaxation according to one study.

Included in its many benefits are cellular metabolism, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic. Today, the power of black ginger has been harnessed into a convenient pill form to make ingestion easier so that’s a plus.

Foods in different sizes

Conclusion

To wrap it up, it’s perfectly normal to be dissatisfied with the length or girth of your penis – it’s a completely common reaction for men. Unfortunately, collective studies show that there’s really no safe and foolproof way of improving penis size in a sustainable manner.

It’s therefore better to focus on other things that can improve your performance in the bedroom through the use of exercises and natural supplements. Talking with your partner also helps so you can both work towards any insecurity you might have in the bedroom.
